A Fabulous Vacation to Leofoo Resort
Twenty miles off Central Hsinchu, I woke up to the sight of grazing rhinos, roaming giraffes, as well as zebras feeding on grass, then set off on a half-day trek along a mountain to feed its native goats. What is this paradise that I went to? It is none other than Leofoo Resort Guanshi.
We arrived at an African – like hotel and walk past reflection pools to our room – The Golden Suite, which has Burmese teakwood floor carved with the shape of all kinds of animals and rich fabrics. But the wow moment really came when I stepped out to the open air terrace, and there, close to our balcony, were all kinds of animals – giraffes, zebras, gazelles, rhinos, etc.
After that, our hotel arranged a mountain trip to feed native goats. As we arrived at the area, a beautiful sight came into view. Old trees overhanging the stream, half – shading shallow water. Bright green, dark brown, and the golden rays of sunlight are the main colors, as soft as the sounds of water in the breeze. Two goats cut through the lake water, straight and swift, a slice of light and motion so powerful we barely felt it. They were gone in a split second, but a trail of this image still lingers, its power out of proportion to its size. A sense of excitement overcame me as I fed those powerful goats wandering around the forest in the mountains. But still , as the saying goes ``All good things must come to an end’’, so we had to leave in a few moments.
Visiting the wild animals in a private jeep also played an important role in my trip. Close encounter with lions, tigers, buffalos, rhinos, and polar bears was the icing on the cake.
The exploring experiences about visiting Leofoo Resort can only be described in one word– unforgettable, it is not because of the hotel’s special African style, nor its luxury of the suites, rather the memorable sharing time with my friends and my family. Although it has been several months from that resort visit, the happy memory still lingers in my mind. It will never be gone, and it is immortal – a memory that will exist forever in my heart, my soul.
Of course, we can’t discount the meal sets the resort restaurants offered. How simple the meal is, having the meal with the ones I love made that moment memorable. Besides, the sense of smell and taste of the food flooded the mind with powerful memories. Many times the smell or taste can bring to mind the warm feelings we had in the resort.
